The Karnali highway, which was blocked for 18 hours due to landslides, opened in one direction

The Gangne Khola road of Kalikot, Karnali Highway, Surkhet-Jumla road section, which was blocked since Tuesday afternoon due to landslides, has been opened one-way. Two machines (JCB) were used to remove the landslide from 7 am on Wednesday and the road was put into operation at 11 am.

Kalikot police chief DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat said that the highway, which was opened from 7 am on Tuesday morning to operate the Karnali highway blocked by landslides, was blocked again from 2 pm. He informed that the road has been opened in one direction after removing the landslide that came to Gagane river.

After the opening of the road, the cars coming up from Surkhet through Karnali Corridor and Highway and stopping to come and go from Humla to Surkhet via Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, Bajura are heading towards their destination.

Road Division Office Jumla has placed two JCB machines in Hulmadai Khola section of Kalikot section which is prone to landslides.

DSP Rawat said that the work of the police for a week has been spent in exchanging information and assisting in clearing the landslide on the Karnali highway. He said, 'Earthfalls, sent the machine. It opens for a while, then closes again. The police are busy with this.

Similarly, the landslides that occurred on Monday evening and Tuesday afternoon in the Kalikot-Jumla road section of the Karnali highway in Khandachakra and Tilagufa municipalities have been removed, the police said.
