Two excavators to remove landslides on the blocked Karnali highway

Two excavators have been used to clear the landslide of Gangne River in Calikot, which is on the Surkhet Jumla road section of Karnali Highway, which has been blocked since 7:30 pm on Monday due to landslides.

Kalikot police chief DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat said that two machines were mobilized to operate the Karnali highway blocked by landslides from 7 am on Tuesday. 'Yesterday it rained all day,' he said, 'Gagne River, which is always blocked, a landslide occurred in the evening and the road was blocked.'

He said that the vehicle traveling to and from Humla via Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, Bajura via Karnali Corridor and Highway was stopped. "If it doesn't rain, the road will be opened in 1/2 hour," said DSP Rawat, "if it rains, there will be a landslide in the river Gangane."

Kalikot's morning river which was blocked by landslides last night and Cheka's landslides were removed at night, the police said.
