DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat of Calikot has informed that the one-way road has been brought into operation after removing the landslide in the river Gangne.
The Gangne Khola road of Kalikot, Karnali highway, Surkhet-Jumla road section, which was blocked by a landslide since 7:30 pm on Monday, has been opened one-way.
Two machines (JCB) were mobilized from 7 am on Tuesday morning to remove the landslide and the road was brought into operation at 9:30 am.
Kalikot police chief DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat informed that the road has been opened in one direction after the landslides that occurred in Gagane river were removed.
After the opening of the road, the vehicles stopped to reach Humla through Kalikot, Jumla, Mugu, Bajura through Karnali Corridor and Highway are heading towards their destination. Police said that the road division office Jumla has kept one JCB machine nearby and another machine has been sent to Hulme as there is a possibility of another landslide due to heavy rain.
Likewise, Khandachakra-5 Bihani Khola on the Kalikot-Jumla road section of the Karnali highway fell on Monday evening and Ward no. According to the police, the landslide on the 4th was removed at night.
