After a landslide in the Kalikot section of the Karnali highway, the movement of vehicles has been stopped.
The road has been blocked due to a landslide at Gagnekhola on the Kalikot section of the Karnali highway.
Hundreds of vehicles are stranded on the road after the landslide blocked the road. District Administration Office Kalikot Assistant Chief District Officer Janak Sharma said that due to the incessant rain since 3:30 in the afternoon, the rocks fell along with the rocks in the Gagnekhola. He said, 'It is still raining heavily. Stones with lead are constantly flowing. The road cannot be opened immediately.'
After the landslide did not stop, the operation of vehicles was stopped. Assistant Chief District Officer Sharma, who is also the Information Officer, said that after continuous landslides in the last few days, the operation of vehicles was stopped from 8:00 PM. Road Division Office Jumla said that it will take some time to open the road as it is raining. Passengers have also been advised not to travel in this difficult situation. The road division office on the social network Facebook has requested to plan the journey only after understanding the road conditions.
As landslides occur in Gagnekhola every year, travel on the Karnali highway is affected. 'Until now, there has been no news of landslides anywhere else except Gagnekhola', the Calicot administration has said, 'We are receiving continuous information about landslides on the Karnali highway.'
