There are no cases in the High Court Surkhet Jumla bench for more than one year. In the financial year 2081/82, all the cases that exceeded one year were dismissed.
On Tuesday, the Surkhet Jumla Bench of the High Court, in a meeting with the media, informed that only the cases that have been registered since the last month of Baisak have yet to be processed.
19 of last year and 184 new appeals, 170 have been granted. 30 out of 34 writs and 2 initial cases have been dismissed. According to the annual target, 113.48 percent of cases have been dismissed according to information officer Tank Prasad Khatri.
Judge Shyamji Pradhan informed that more cases have been filed in this financial year compared to the last three years. According to him, 205 out of 255 cases were filed in 2079/80, 253 out of 279 cases in 2080/81 and 217 out of 2081/82 were dismissed.
In the jumla bench of Surkhet High Court, 40 out of 43 detention cases and 21 out of 21 cases where children are defendants/defendants have been dismissed.
In the financial year 2081/82, there were 34 writ petitions, 62 cases of coercion, 14 murders, 10 murders, 5 cases of polygamy and 2 cases of divorce.
Similarly, there were 4 cases of death by vehicle, 2 cases of mutilation, 5 cases of human trafficking and trafficking, 2 cases of racial discrimination, 14 cases of drug use, 2 cases of contempt, 4 cases of possession of arms and ammunition, 9 cases of theft, 10 cases of robbery, 4 cases of theft and other 34 cases.
