Dengue infection is increasing every year in Surkhet. Dengue infection has been increasing in the district during the last five years.
According to District Public Health Service Office Surkhet, 639 dengue patients were found in the financial year 2077/078. Similarly, in the financial year 2078/089, 1 thousand 322 people, in the financial year 2079/080, 1 thousand 4 184, 571 in 2080/081 and 1837 in 2081/082.
In the financial year 2078/089, when dengue was tested on 5,330 people, Malaria was found in 1,322 people, Inspector Uday Bahadur VC informed. According to him, 8 thousand 416 people were tested for dengue in the financial year 2079/080.
In fiscal year 2080/081, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two people were tested for dengue, while in 2081/082, 14 thousand thirty-seven people were tested. In which 1 thousand 837 people were found to have dengue, VC said.
Birendranagar municipality is most at risk of dengue. District 9 According to the District Public Health Service Office, among the local levels, VINPA is more at risk.
Last year, 4 people died due to dengue. 2 people from Virendranagar municipality, 1 person from Barahtal rural municipality, 1 person from Gurbhakot municipality were killed.
The office has been conducting various awareness programs for dengue control and increasing testing. In Surkhet district, Shravan month-Dengue awareness month national campaign announcement program has been conducted.
Malaria inspector VC said that various programs are planned under this program.
