Sinja Rural Municipality of Jumla has celebrated the 1st of July as Khas Day. The 12th village assembly of the rural municipality passed a decision to celebrate 1st of July as Khas Day.

On this occasion, a public holiday has been given to government and non-government offices within the rural municipality on Thursday.  

'Khas day is a new year in itself for those who believe in Khas civilization,' said village head Purna Prasad Dhital, 'Sinjavasi celebrated Khas day as a new year. For the Khas, this is the third year of Khas Day.' 

In the Khas empire, it was customary to establish customs on this day, to collect money, to promote tourism, to prepare and eat sweets after cleaning. In memory of the same day, Sinja Rural Municipality has been celebrating as Khas Day.

On this day, there is a tradition of wishing for longevity, health and prosperity by lighting firewood to get rid of time, famine, and disease. President Dhital responded that Khas Day is encouraging the local residents of Sinja to study and research regarding Khas civilization.
