All disputes of Kohalpur-Surkhet 132 KV transmission line have been resolved. With the resolution of the dispute over the line extension, the way to proceed with the project has been opened.

Earlier, there was controversy during the construction of the project. According to the project, the construction work has been delayed due to the dispute. During the extension of the line, the locals obstructed the expansion of the line at Gavar of Baijnath Rural Municipality-1 and Banianbhar of Ward No. 4 of Banke.

Locals have been obstructing the extension of power line saying that it will affect the settlements and agricultural land. They also filed a writ against the project in the High Court, Tulsipur Bench, Nepalgunj. The court dismissed the writ stating that the construction of the transmission line should not be stopped by giving the necessary compensation as it is a matter related to the direct concern of the citizens.

The district administration office Banke coordinated and cooperated with the local residents of the construction site to give compensation at the current government rate, and the problem was solved in Gavar.  There was still a problem in Baniabhar. They even went to the Supreme Court. But the court did not give a stay order. The hearing was scheduled on June 11. But after the Supreme Court did not give a stay order, the locals retreated.

Ravi Chaudhary, the head of the transmission line expansion project, said that after the coordination of the local administration, the locals are removing the obstacles. Gradually all the locals have agreed to allow the work to proceed. He said, "Most of them were ready to accept themselves as locals after the continuous coordination of CDIOSAP." The compensation for 3 towers of Baniyanbhar has been fixed. The work under the wire is also ready to start. 80 percent are ready to accept locals.'  He said that

is no longer an obstacle and the work can be continued. Some time ago, the Home Minister Ramesh Lekhtar had also directed the Banke administration to remove the obstacles. After that, the foundation was built in the national park by mobilizing security personnel.

Similarly, the obstruction of Birendranagar Municipality-11 Subbakuna in Surkhet has also been removed. A dispute was created saying that the land of 18 families of the same ward would be affected. To resolve the dispute here, Karnali Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel, Member of the House of Representatives elected from Surkhet, District Administration Office was coordinating with the locals.

A local consensus was reached between the positions to continue the work anyway. Chaudhary, the head of the project, informed that the work is ready to start here in a few days. He said that since the dispute is almost over, the work of the project will speed up now.  With the expiry of the last extension of

, a fine has also been submitted for an extension of 6 months. Chaudhary said that the construction work will be carried forward by extending the deadline. Chief Minister Kandel said that after constant pressure from all sides, inquiries and facilitation, the people of Karnali have reached the front of access to 132 kV transmission line. He said that this transmission line is a life line for Karnali residents who are suffering from irregular electricity. The

project has achieved 95 percent progress. Today, trees are being cut. So far, 5,000 trees have been cut. Another 5,500 trees will have to be cut. Chowdhury said that 156 foundations have been built and now 6 foundations will be built. So far 40 km of wire has been stretched.

Now 12 km of wire is left to be pulled. The project is being constructed with an investment of 70 crores. Indian construction company RS Infraproject Pvt Ltd got the contract for the project. The work of extending the line was done from June 2077.
