Bir Bahadur Singh of Sapulli Village, Tila Rural Municipality-4 of Jumla reached the age of 75. Josjungar is similar to Tanneri. He takes the lead when he has to do any collective work of the society. He is interested in every development work and believes more in labor donation than relying on the government budget.

The 'Bhandari-Bungar-Jharkhet Irrigation Village' started in 1962 in the then Kudari Village Development Committee became possible under his leadership. That hole was dug in 1962 by the Khanyal community who came from Dang. They dig up to the waist. They couldn't do it because of the hard rocks. The work of that mine was stopped for almost one hundred years. Bademan's stream was flowing near the

. The surrounding fields were drying up without getting water. Seeing this, Bir Bahadur's heart was broken .

is about the year 2050 . Chakra Bahadur Shahi was elected as the then village president. He formed a team under the leadership of Bir Bahadur and started the excavation work again in Bhir . The excavation started in 2053 and was finished only in 2062. They have the data that 107,000 workers have dug ditches with full labor in 10 years . According to Bir Bahadur, in 10 years, Shramdan worth Rs.

When the Khanyal community stopped work in the middle, the Marsi field was drying up due to lack of irrigation. Bir Bahadur says that after seeing the fields dried up, he thought of breaking the ground and making a culvert. But it was not possible only because of his desire. Because even the Khanyals were not able to dig this pit. Paddy planting was stopped in Sapulli Jiulo and Rawatbara Jiulo because they could not make a furrow in about half a kilometer of Bhir.

At that time, the job of digging a hole by digging a hole was not less of a challenge for Bir Bahadur. Tools were not tools . There was also less manpower to break the flood. However, 46 people continued to support him in digging.

work was done for free. There was a lack of resources, but the excavation work was completed. The local people have not forgotten that they tied the body to a rope and dug a pit in Bhir. Now budget without rupees is not possible. But at that time, we were able to make pits in the field by breaking pits for free,' says Bir Bahadur, 'those pits are stronger and more environmentally friendly than the concrete pits of today. Because to dig a hole in the midst of this thicket was like causing death . 'There were no digging tools . To cast aside the hard rock  It was very difficult,' Bir Bahadur remembers. There was a lot of risk. The families who went to dig holes had to be worried until they returned home in the evening.'

At first, a wooden platform was kept in Bhir. Irrigation was conducted from it for a few days. Now the farmers have got irrigation facilities from the wells dug in Bhir . Bir Bahadur breathes a sigh of joy when he sees water flowing from that well round the clock.

Bir Bahadur almost lost his son while digging a pit. Son Dhir Bahadur fell from Bhir in Kulokhanda . "We dug a hole with Jiuzyan Bazi". Now the rice is hanging on the vines . What could be happier than this?' Bir Bahadur tells the story of success.

Now the name of this village is Bungar Navhidanda and Jharkhet Irrigation Village . About 400 farmers are benefited from this project. Irrigation facility has been reached in four jiulas of Bhandari jiula, Simkhet, Bungar and Jhar farms of Tila rural municipality-4, Sapulli, Rawatbada and Nuwakotgaon. Kulo Khan Bir Bahadur was also supported by Khammanath Yogi of Rawatbara.

The name of the workers on the copper plate

In the current development projects, there is a tradition of keeping a hoarding board to show the transparency of the budget. But it is not customary to write a copper sheet and put a board at the project site . This time, Tila rural municipality has written the names of all 46 people participating in the construction of the village on a copper plate.

'The village municipality has created a new history, the workers were also respected, the work was also appreciated,' Gorikala Budha, the vice president of Tila Rural Municipality, said, 'This program is done in respect of labor and workers.' She unveiled the copperplate on June 30, named after the person who worked for free. In the program, the laborers and their families were called together and honored by wearing Dhaka caps.

It was the executive meeting held on October 16th last year that decided to put a copper plate in their name . Although the copper sheet was prepared last November, it was placed in June.  "Current development has not been able to proceed without the budget." Agraj created a history of invaluable work by donating free labor,' Vice President Budha said, 'The time has come for the current generation to learn from the work done by this workforce.' However, the relatives are happy that their names were written on the copper plate for doing good work.

Locals said that the current generation does not understand the fair value of labor. They have also requested that the municipality should not think that there is no development due to lack of budget. Let's start the ritual of donating. Let's learn some lessons from the work done by our ancestors, Tila's prosperity lies in this,' said Bir Bahadur.
