According to the report of the Karnali Province Organization Structure Study High Level Committee, 8 ministries, 133 offices and 2 thousand 955 staff positions have been proposed to be cut.
The government formed a 4-member high-level committee under the coordination of former secretary Laxman Aryal on May 5 for administrative restructuring. The committee submitted the report to the state government on June 13th after two months of study.

committee has recommended that the office under the Ministry of Social Development be accommodated in the district hospital and the name of the Ministry of Social Development be changed to the Ministry of Health and Social Development. Gopikrishna Khanal, a member of the committee and former chief secretary of the provincial government, said that apart from the district hospital and the division forest office, other offices should be dissolved and an economic development office and an integrated infrastructure development office should be established in the districts. The
committee has concluded that the Office of the Attorney General and the Provincial Planning Commission should be merged with the Office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers.
