Under Karnali Corridor, there is no bridge in Phugad river which is located on the border of Raskot Municipality and Pachaljharna Rural Municipality of Kalikot.

A new bridge has not been built after the iron belay bridge and previous suspension bridge built by the Nepalese army were swept away by the flood in June 2007. Vehicles and pedestrians from the river during the dry season  Although it is not difficult to travel, it is difficult to cross the river during the rainy season. 

Small jeeps and motorbikes have been stopped across the river since Tuesday as they could not cross the Phugad river. Palata Ghar Congress leader Dilu Bam told that when a bridge was not built in the Fugad river in Karnali Corridor, 3 motorcycles were swept away last year. In 3 years, 4 local people have gone missing due to this river. Both vehicles and pedestrians have problems.  

Meena Rawat Wik, the deputy head of the District Coordination Committee of Pachaljharna, expressed her complaint that she did not go home and returned to the headquarters after not being able to cross the Phugad river. "During the rainy season, the corridor is closed," she said.

Bel Bahadur Nepali, Head of Karnali Corridor Road Division Office, Simikot, said that although the contract for 9 road bridges including Fugad in Kalikot was signed in June 2079, the work has not started. 'The contract has been signed,' he said, 'the work has not yet started.' According to him, the design of the bridge of Phugad river has not been approved by the road department.

Meanwhile, the residents of Calikot drew the attention of Prazia Narayan Prasad Bhattarai on Wednesday saying that the citizens were suffering because of the lack of a bridge in the Fugad River of the Karnali Corridor.

'A suspension bridge should be constructed immediately to cross the Phugad river,' said Raju Bogti, a civic leader.

Prajia Bhattarai said that he has informed the head of road division office Humla and Piluchour of Bajura to make arrangements for the immediate movement of passengers in Phugad river.
