Rapti highway has been blocked since 6 pm on Monday due to landslides after incessant rains. Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 Rapti Highway was blocked after a large landslide occurred near Chorkhola.
After the road was blocked, now the passenger vehicles are stopped on the road . Due to the rains, the passengers are in more trouble as the vehicle cannot drive even on the alternative route.
Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, Information Officer of District Police Office Salyan, said that Rapti Highway was blocked due to a big landslide in Chorkhola, Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3. He informed that the dozer was unable to remove the landslide as it was night and it was raining.
"Since the landslide has not stopped and it is difficult to work at night, the work will be done to remove the landslide from Tuesday morning only," he said.
When it is not possible to remove the landslide, he has advised the vehicles stranded on the road to use other alternative routes when the road is completely blocked. As it is raining and there are landslides, he has asked the car dealers to not stop the vehicles in the area and take them to a safe place.
He said that Salyan, Rolpa, Rukum and Dangbasi were suffering various kinds of suffering while riding in the vehicle due to the landslides that occurred in Chorkhola area as soon as it rains.
