The construction of the Latigar-Baghchaur lift water supply project in Bagchaur municipality-2 of the district has been stopped due to poor quality. Lastam Suppliers and Company has been entrusted with the construction of the lift water supply scheme with a budget of 5 lakhs allocated by Bagchaur municipality.
When Deputy Head of the Municipality Sumnima DC went to inspect the cemented pillar constructed for the GI pipe of drinking water, the mud fell and broke when pushed by hand, the Ward President Dipesh DC said that the construction was stopped. He said that after the plastic pipes installed earlier in the Latigar Khonepani scheme got burnt due to forest fire, Bagchaur Municipality started constructing GI pipes and intakes in the scheme.
'Construction company built 7/8 pillars to strengthen the pipe . "Even though sand from the local river was used, all the pillars were demolished except for a few that were built when the soil was mixed and the cement was added too little," he said.
In the work of the project to provide water to the locals of Bagchaur-2, the contractor volunteered not to call the technician and Sachin Pun, the technician of the ward office, said that when the team including Deputy Mayor DC went on inspection, the pillars built were found to be of poor quality. It was seen that the work carried out in the quotation was only trying to deceive the eyes of the people. The contractor of the construction company did not even call the technician, he said.
He says that the contractor has committed mischief in the construction of pillars as they tried to bring water from three springs to one intake to feed the residents of Bagchaur market.
