Birendranagar Municipality of Surkhet has released a budget worth 4.38 billion 2.7 million 15 thousand. In the meeting of the 17th Municipal Council, Deputy Mayor Neelkanth Khana announced the budget and program for the financial year 2082/083 on Tuesday.
The municipality said that it has brought a budget of 1 billion 59 million 42 million 30 thousand on the current side and 2 billion 78 million 84 million 85 thousand on the capital side.
In the budget announced by the municipality, there is 240 million 24 million for federal financial equalization grants, 2 billion 208 million for federal conditional grants, 205 million 57 million 93 thousand for federal revenue sharing, 33 million 34 million 53 thousand for provincial government financial equalization grants, and 37 million 61 million 36 thousand for provincial conditional grants.
15 million from house, land, registration and entertainment tax, 25 million from seventy-two fees, 51 million 63 million 50 thousand from the internal income of the municipality, 41 million 27 million 83 thousand from the successive projects of the fiscal year 2081/082, and 41 million 27 million 83 million from the social security subsidy.
In the next financial year 2082/083, the tax system will be reformed and a target of 5163 million 50 thousand rupees will be collected.
The municipality has allocated a matching fund of 116 million rupees for the very pumping project which has been carried out in collaboration with the association and the state government for a sustainable solution to the water supply problem in the valley.
12 crores have been allocated for urban infrastructure and capital-focused infrastructure such as: traffic lights, road marking, footpath management, CC cameras and high mast light installation. In addition, a budget of 223.4 million has been kept for the construction of other parks and successive projects, including Ghantaghar Park.
2 million rupees have been allocated to purchase and operate city buses to make transportation in the city accessible.
