The Rapti Highway, which was blocked due to a landslide in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 Chorkhola with continuous rain, has been opened after 16 hours. After removing the landslide, the blocked highway was opened.
Rapti Highway was blocked from 10 pm last night due to landslides in Chorkhola along with rain. After the opening of the blocked highway, the vehicles that were stuck on the road for a long time are now heading towards their respective destinations.
Rapti highway was blocked for a long time because the work could not be done during the night and even though the JCV was working to remove the landslide from the morning, Resham Bahadur Khatri, police inspector of District Police Office Salyan, said that the work of falling stones from above did not stop. He informed that after the blocked road was opened, dozens of vehicles and passengers who were stopped now have left their places.
As soon as it rains, there are landslides in Chorkhola and stones keep falling from above, so he has asked the vehicle traders and passengers to be very careful while driving on that road. He said that even though the construction work is going on from Chorkhola to Ramri, the commuters are suffering due to the daily landslides.
