Sharada Municipality-9 Nayabasti Community Forest of the district has distributed goats of advanced breed to its 23 consumers. In order to improve the economic condition of local consumers, community forest has distributed goats to consumers.
Karna Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Community Consumer Committee, said that 500,000 goats have been distributed to the consumers from the amount collected from the sale of the forest produce in the community forest.
'Recently, the demand for khasiboka outside the district is high. Even those who keep 10/12 goats are usually earning between one lakh to one and a half lakh per year. It is believed that the poor and unemployed people will not only get jobs, but they will not have to take a loan for money for the morning and evening expenses, it will be easier to buy salt and oil, and they will not have to take loans for treatment when they are sick.
Consumers are happy after distribution of goats by Community Forest. Sharmila Bohra, a local consumer, said that from one goat provided by the community forest, they are increasing it to two or four.
