For the first time in Jagdulla Rural Municipality of Dolpa, a development plan is being prepared with the full participation of local women. The sewerage scheme constructed in Kaigaon Bazar located in Ward No. 2 is being constructed with the full participation of women.
Among the 17 projects of the rural municipality, women have been made to participate in the selection and construction work in the consumer committee to identify one of the plans as a model. The consumer committee of the
scheme is headed by local Lakshmi Budhathoki.
The technical team of the local infrastructure support program has created a procedure to promote inclusive leadership in the development plan.
It is said that 78 households will benefit from the scheme, which has created employment for twenty women workers for forty days .
Since the formation of consumer committees developed in the difficult areas of the district, the women's full participation in the drainage plan has been made to break the traditional notion that women should not be included in the plan, said Amrita Lama, the vice president of the rural municipality. Vice President Lama said that after the construction of the
plan, proper management of tap water and waste water from the house will help in creating a clean environment.
In the current year, the rural municipality has also passed a new procedure to encourage inclusive and women's participation in the formation and operation of consumer committees.
