Himani Trust has started building a birthing center in Guthichour rural municipality-1 Manisanghu of Jumla. According to the trust, a plan has been made to build a birthing center in view of the difficult situation for women in remote areas to give birth.
Former princess Himani Shah herself laid the foundation stone of the birthing center. His son Hridayandra also participated with him. Although the foundation stone of the center was laid on Sunday, they came to Jumla on Saturday. They reached Manisanghu after traveling for about two hours from Jumla headquarters Khalanga.
RPP Chief Whip MP Gyanendra Shahi said that the work done by Himani Trust is commendable. He said, "No mother will have to die prematurely without being able to go to the hospital." This birthing center will become an example for safe delivery.
Arjun Mahatara, Ward President of Guchichaur-1, said that the foundation stone of the birthing center with accommodation has been laid at a cost of 15 million rupees. According to him, two buildings will be built here. Mahatara said that the birthing center construction work will be completed within 6 months and the services will start. 9 settlements of Gutichour-1 and 2 will get services from the center.
Many pregnant women give birth at home due to lack of reliable health services in the village. While some are being taken to the hospital, they are found giving birth on the way,'' Ward President Mahatara said, 'Now the birthing center has created an environment for safe delivery. This is a very happy thing for us in the remote area.
Dan Bahadur Budha, Chairman of Guthichour Rural Municipality, responded that the support given to the health condition of the remote area is very appreciable. He said, "The condition of pregnant women and childbirth in remote areas is very complicated. Now after the construction of the birthing center, the condition of the mother and the child will be safe.' Mahatara, the author of Guthichaur-1, has donated free land for the
birthing center. He was honored by the Shah with a Dosalla Odhai Kadarpatra.
Three years ago, the Trust had provided clothing to Himali Rambha Residential School in Guthichour-1 Chotragaon.
