Tree plantation is being done every year on the occasion of World Environment Day. Plantation is also done with great pomp. However, even 10 percent of the planted plants do not grow. Citizen leader Dhanraj Rokaya said that the plants planted without preparation are similar to those planted at the district headquarters and local levels on the occasion of the World Environment Day on June 5 (Thursday), but due to the hot summer, even 10 percent of the plants do not survive.
'Plants are planted, not grown,' he said, 'If only the plants planted on Environment Day were grown every year, the desert hills would be green. He says that if the plants are not planted in the hot sun of June, they will dry up and perish.
Meanwhile, District Forest Division Office Kalikot for the first time reached the village outside the district headquarters Manm and planted trees on Thursday. With the slogan 'reduction of plastic pollution: our responsibility', under the facilitation of local Karnali Uthansheel Samaj (Krin) Nepal, Division Forest provided walnut, dhupi, sallo and other plants and more than 100 saplings were planted at Musto Community Forest and Janjyoti Awi at Tilagufa-6 Juwitha.
Deputy Chief Mahendra Bahadur Shahi said that Tilagufa Municipality is conducting tree plantation as a campaign for environmental balance, saying that due to increasing deforestation and industrialization, the temperature is increasing and climate change is decreasing production. 'We are in the campaign to make Tilagufa a green city,' he said, 'One house, one garden, plastic-free village settlement campaign has been conducted.' He informed that there is a plan to reduce 50,000 tons of smoke by distributing 5,000 improved stoves in Tilagufa Municipality and Mahabai Rural Municipality with the help of Krin Nepal.
Indicating that forest fires and deforestation are major problems in Calikot, Divisional Forest Chief Dharmaraj Upadhyay said that forest protection is an important task for all stakeholders. "Even though the program was small, we did a sacred religious work like planting trees," he said, "The world is heating up the earth due to the deterioration of the ecological system."
He added, 'new diseases have appeared, agricultural production is decreasing, soil and water are contaminated by the use of excessive pesticides, new diseases have appeared.' He told that trees were planted after reaching the village to convey this message. He said, 'If we feed children vegetables that do not use pesticides, life will be donated. Even if food can be made pesticide-free, 50 percent of diseases can be avoided.'
Parvalal Shahi, Ward President of Tilagufa-6, said that the fire in the Kalashilla forest here has destroyed the entire forest due to the fact that grass grows without planting trees in the village. He said, 'Strict action should be taken against those who set fire to the forest. It should be conducted as a tree plantation campaign.'
