Commitment to teaching the children of teachers and staff in Sannitriveni community schools

The teachers-employees of Sannitriveni Rural Municipality have made a commitment to send their children to government schools. Such a commitment has come from the discussion held by the rural municipality with stakeholders for educational reform.

Village Chairman Mohan Bahadur KC said that in the first phase, all the teaching staff of the rural municipality have committed to enroll their children in government schools, considering the lack of ownership and supervision in public education. "The trend of requiring government services and salaries and choosing private education is fatal," he said.

Based on the proposal of the municipality chairman, the stakeholders have committed to start English medium and teach all their children in government schools according to the wishes of the parents, said Madan Shahi, the education officer of the Education, Youth and Sports Branch. According to him, stakeholders such as the municipal head, deputy head, ward president, school management committee chairman, headmaster, etc. To increase the quality of education, teachers emphasized on student regularity.

The review of the annual examination of 2081, merger of schools and reduction of classes, transfer of teachers, matching of posts, educational governance and other issues were discussed, Education Officer Shahi informed. The results of class 8 and 10 are disappointing. For its improvement  It has been discussed,' he said.

Concluding that the quality of public education has deteriorated due to the tendency of those who receive benefits from the state fund to send their children to boarding schools, he said that it was decided that the employees should enroll their children in public schools compulsorily.

Since the quality of community schools has been deteriorating lately, Village Vice President Parvati Singh Sanjyal said that the program will be fruitful for building future action plans along with past studies for improvement.

Prem Choulagai, the monitoring officer of the Empowered Girl Project, said that for the educational reform of Sannitriveni, there should be an end to party politics in schools, special investment should be made in lower level classes, matching of teacher positions, emphasis on parent education along with physical infrastructure. 

In Sanni Triveni in 074, the biometric attendance installed in the school for teacher regularity has all been broken, so new ones should be installed, said Jayakumari Devkota, principal of Panchadeval Mavi.
