The Rapti Highway, which was blocked by a landslide, was opened after four hours. The Rapti highway was blocked due to a landslide in Kapurkot Rural Municipality-3 Chorkhola due to the incessant rain on Tuesday night.
Dozens of vehicles, which were stopped due to the blocking of the Rapti highway, have now left for their destination. Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, Information Officer of District Police Office Salyan, said that after the excavators and dozers of the construction company upgrading the road removed the landslide, the Rapti Highway started and traffic started moving in both directions.
Excavator removed the landslide, as there is a possibility of stones falling from the road, he asked the vehicle owners to drive carefully and also the passengers to be careful while driving. He said that the commuters in Chorkhola area of Rapti highway had to suffer for twelve months due to occasional landslides in both winter and rainy season.
