State investment should be increased in Karnali: UML leader Gyawali

UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali has said that the government should increase investment in Karnali province. Gyawali, who arrived in Manm, Kalikot on Sunday for the party's trainer training, said that the government should increase investment to change the face of Karnali.

He emphasized on the need to increase investment in the areas such as upgrading of Karnali highway, quality education, water supply, irrigation, tourism promotion, which is the backbone of Karnali development. He opined that the government should give priority to Karnali in response to the inquiries of media persons here. Gyawali's response came at a time when the government was bringing the budget for the next financial year.

He said that although the development of Karnali has been to some extent after democracy, the state needs to increase investment to connect it with prosperity. "Compared to other provinces, it seems that the federal government should allocate more budget to Karnali," he said.

Deputy Secretary General Gyawali said that negative comments will not develop the country and Karnali. He also alleged that the state was running Kanika Chharai Development Scheme.

UML district in-charge Nagendra Shahi said that the leader Gyawali, who arrived in Kalikot via Mugu, Jumla of Karnali, along with organization department head Kashinath Adhikari, Karnali in-charge Gorakh Bogti and other leaders trained the party leaders, workers and leaders of grassroots organizations.
