A hostel has been run in Janakalyan Basic School located in Sharda Municipality-5 Talno Marke of the district. The school has run a dormitory to facilitate the education of poor and orphaned children who could not go to school due to lack of finances.
Since the time to go from home to school and return home in the evening is saved, the children in the dormitory have the opportunity to study some more time during that time. Headmaster Dilli Bahadur Bhandari said that the hostel was run with the help of locals, teachers, school management committee and intellectuals targeting 30 students.
He informed that children without parents, who were living in the shelter of others and financially very weak children were kept in the dormitory. According to him, 71 students are studying in the school which runs up to class 5. Of which 25 are now living in the hostel.
School teacher Krishna Wali said that the local Gangaram Roka has provided a house for the hostel with a low rent. He said that it is now very easy for the children who walk two to one and a half hours to come to school. Management Committee Member Chandra Reule has taken the responsibility of cooking food and cleaning the children for free for three months. It is seen that there will be further improvement in children's education.
Management Committee Chairman Ram Bahadur Budhathoki said that it is now much easier for children who cannot study due to lack of money and who do not go to school regularly due to the necessity of walking for a long time.
Pradeep Kumar Shahi, Ward President of Sharda Municipality-5, said that the school has done very good work for the poor, orphans and destitute children.
