22 sheep died when lightning struck the herd in Jhuleni Patan of Guthichour rural municipality-2 of Jumla. According to Birendra Bohra of Guthichour-2, 16 sheep of Hir Bahadur AD and 6 sheep of Dhankrishna Rokaya died due to lightning on Saturday evening.

Since there is no grazing area near home during this season, sheep are taken to Patan for rearing. When it was raining, lightning struck the herd of sheep that were sitting on the ground. 

Hir Bahadur has 50 sheep and Dhankrishna has 30 sheep and goats. Dhan Bahadur Bohra, ward member of Guthichour-2, said that lightning has caused a lot of damage in Patan. According to him, he was bringing the sheep home. He said, 'I was bringing the sheep home after grazing in Patan. It rained. He was sitting under a tree when lightning struck. He took away the happiness of the farmers.' 

Hira Bahadur, who used to sell sheep every year to support his household expenses, is very worried after the sheep was killed by lightning. He said, "Patans are not safe for sheep grazing either." How to earn a living by rearing sheep.' 

Head of Animal Hospital and Animal Services Office Jumla Gyanend Budthapa confirmed that lightning killed the sheep. He said, "The data of sheep killed by lightning has arrived. ’ 

Farmers have demanded to apply ointment for the damage suffered in the disaster by managing the relief. 

More than 100 families have reared sheep and goats in 175 houses of Guthigaon located in Guthichaur-2. More than 3,500 sheep and goats are reared in that village. Hundreds of sheep and goats have died every year due to lack of management of fallowing and grazing. 

Ward president of Guthichour-2 Deep Bahadur Aidy said that the local government will provide relief to the farmers. He said that even if there is no financial in the ward, he will help the farmers in their suffering by coordinating with the disaster branch of the municipality.
