68-year-old Manpura KC of Sannitriveni-9 Mumra, who went to cut grass for buffaloes, died after falling from the local Maurapani Bhir. Even in his old age, going to Bhir and cutting grass is not a desire but a compulsion for him. Animal husbandry is the main source of livelihood of KC who keeps 3 buffaloes and 5 cows. KC family does farming.

There is a compulsion to go to Bhirpakha in Kalikot to raise livestock. After cutting grass and returning home, he slipped and fell on the road and died on the spot. His relatives advised him not to take him to the distant headquarters for post-mortem and cremated him in the village without informing the police. 'Why report to the district headquarters to get hurt?' Namraj KC, the local leader, answered the question and said, 'Daiva Dasha fell due to fate, there is no fault of anyone. But the government does not even consider those who fought from Bhir as a disaster.'

32-year-old Jaipura Pandey of Khandachakra-3 Tadi was injured after falling from the steep ground of Kot near Manm Bazar. Although his relatives took him to District Hospital Manm, he was referred to Surkhet as his condition was complicated. Even after being put on a ventilator for a week, he died without regaining consciousness  Announced.

Jaipura's husband, who has 3 minor children, is depressed. Unable to pay the debt due to his treatment, he sold his farm and became a squatter. He did not get help from anywhere for his treatment and work expenses. He ran to the administration for months for relief, but he returned empty saying that he would not be in a disaster.

In Kalikot, falling from the hill and being a steep place, even while walking on the road, there is a huge loss of human life due to stones falling from above. DSP  Tek Bahadur Rawat said.

'Here there are many people who have died from falls and falling stones,' he said, 'Even though the government has not put it in the list of disasters, this is the main disaster in Calikot.'

He informed that although 30-35 people are killed by landslides, more than 50 people die every year due to falls and falling stones. According to him, in the financial year 079/080, 13 people, including 6 men and 7 women, died after falling from the crowd, and some died due to falling stones while walking on the road.

Similarly, in the financial year 080/081, 9 people lost their lives by falling from Bhir while 6 people died due to falling stones. While only 12 people lost their lives due to floods and landslides in both years. According to the police data, 20 people including 11 women and 9 men have died by falling from the river and being hit by stones since July of the current financial year.

Even though the details of people who lost their lives due to landslides come to the police for relief and compensation, the information about more than half of the people who fell down and died due to falling stones does not come to the police. Because they don't consider it a disaster, they don't inform the police because they think it will be more difficult to do the post-mortem.

District Police Office Information Officer Police Inspector Govinda Prasad Chowdhury said that the number of people who lost their lives due to fate may be more. According to the difficult geography of Kalikot  He said that if those who fell from Bhir and those who lost their lives due to stone are kept in death due to calamity, justice will be done to the citizens here.

The geographical situation of Calikot is difficult, complex and difficult, the roads are not good, the land is steep, and people lost their lives due to falling stones from above. Balprasad Sanjyal, Chairman of Nepal Red Cross Society, said that the government has been requested to include it.

The district disaster management committee meeting here has requested to include the human losses caused by falling stones from the Bhir and falling from the Bhir in the disaster. In the decision book of the meeting, it is mentioned that since there are requests for relief and compensation from the families of victims and victims of incidents of falling from the river and falling stones, since there is no clarity in the existing law to provide relief and compensation to the families of the victims of such incidents, it is mentioned that it has been decided to send a request to the Ministry of Home Affairs for the necessary arrangements.
