'Karnali Daughter Conference' started

For the first time, the 'Karnali Daughters Conference' has started in Karnali. Organized by Jyoti Foundation and the Ministry of Social Development, the conference was inaugurated by Tara Bhattarai and her group on Saturday in the provincial capital Birendranagar.

In a conference where the daughters of 69 municipalities of Karnali were gathered, they asked Chief Minister Yamlal Kandel and his wife Geeta Adhikari to recite a letter of commitment to guarantee equal opportunities and education to the daughters of Karnali.

Chief Minister Kandel said that superstitions still persist in Karnali due to lack of awareness. "There is superstition in the society, it is cruel," he said, "it has not changed yet, it must be changed." Everyone's participation is necessary to change the situation in Karnali.' Although it is said to be free from discrimination in terms of the constitution, there are still differences in practice. He says that it is still there. "In practice, everyone should pay attention to building a society so that no one feels inferior to anyone," Kandel said. But it is still not applicable in practice.' He also asked his daughters to move towards politics. "Politics is a journey of self-respect," he said, "If you know politics, it's good." "Attention should be paid to building the foundation of gender equality," she said, "there is still a situation where girls have to be careful every moment for self-defense." "If we can emphasize on the educational empowerment of girls, they will feel safe in the society," she said, "along with equality and empowerment of the girls of Karnali, everyone should work hand in hand in matters of education and health."

Jyoti Katuwal, president of Jyoti Foundation, said that the conference was held in Karnali with the aim of making girls aware, strong, capable and independent. "It is a project to awaken the consciousness of the daughters of Karnali and teach them to be dreamers," she said, "This is a dynamic campaign for the empowerment of the daughters of Karnali." The conference will continue until Monday.
