The Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel, has said that the work of distributing schemes on the basis of merit will be stopped by the state government.

Addressing the provincial coordination council meeting held in Birendranagar, he said that the government will gradually stop the work of allocating the budget on the basis of tajbiz. He said that the budget distribution system will be organized. 

The government only implements programs passed by the state assembly. He said, 'We have made a procedure to select projects from this year after a lot of negative comments were raised on the allocation of budget and plans. The government is embarking on a campaign to end the issue of favoritism or bias in the selection of plans.'

Although the local level has been giving suggestions to the state government about the plan, this time the state government and the local level sit together for the first time to discuss the project. He informed that the legal and structural exercise has started. While choosing the

project, Chief Minister Kandel said that the three employment sectors in Karnali will be focused on agriculture, small industries and tourism.
