The flood that occurred after the rain on Sunday evening has damaged structures including concrete bridges, water tanks and irrigation canals at various places in the district.
Floods in Sharda River after rain have damaged the under-construction concrete bridge on Sharda River in Bagchaur Municipality 2 Bagchaur-Palihalna road section, Bagchaur lift water supply, local's ghat, wheat crop and Darma river in Darma rural municipality.
According to Police Inspector Resam Bahadur Khatri of District Police Office Salyan, the Sharda river between Bagchaur-Patihalna road section was flooded due to the silt piled in the river for the construction of a concrete bridge. The flood has washed away JCB's bucket, pumpset, saria, water pulling motor and pipe of Bagchaur lift water supply scheme.
According to him, the Bagchaur Patihalna road has been blocked after the hum pipe was also damaged by the flood. He said that it was not clear how much damage was caused by the flood. On the other hand, the flood in Darma River of Darma Rural Municipality has damaged irrigation canals and water tanks at various places. Electricity service has also been disrupted in some places due to the fall of poles due to the storm.
Dilli KC, the contractor of Natural Nissan JV, who is working on the construction of a concrete bridge, said that the bridge was damaged and the construction materials were also washed away.
