Tatopani Rural Municipality of Jumla will organize a cultural festival on Monday.

Village Chairman Nanda Prasad Choulagai informed that Raithane is going to organize a cultural festival for the preservation of art, culture, costumes and behavior. He said, 'Imported culture is attacking Raithane culture. Now this festival is being organized to reflect the importance of Raithane culture.' It is said that actors Pradeep Khadka, Deepashree Niraunla and Nepal Film Board Chairman Dinesh DC will also come to watch the

festival. Chairman Choulagai said that all the traditional activities inside Tatopani will be exposed in the

festival. Coordination of Nepal Film Board, Karnali uplifting campaign is going to be organized by Facilitation of Nepal and Tatopani Rural Municipality.  In the

festival, 16 cultural groups from all 8 wards of the municipality will present their cultural performances. Hudke dance, Balo dance, Panchebaza will also be performed.

'The latest generation does not speak the local language. Raithane don't know how to sing Deuda, Magal, Jhoda,' said President Choulagai, 'this festival will be a powerful means to make them understand the importance of Raithane culture and reveal their hidden talents.'

This festival was supposed to be held on February 7 The second date was also fixed on May 15th, but it could not be done due to technical reasons.  

Tatopani rural municipality has previously organized a Gididah conference, a discussion for the protection of the Tatopani stream and a planting mahotvas for the protection of marsh paddy. The planting festival has been held every year in Guruphokta, which is said to have been the first trial of Marsidhan.
