Rapti highway has been blocked since 4 pm on Thursday due to dry landslides. The highway was blocked due to a landslide near Chorkhola of Kapurkot Rural Municipality of the district.
As the highway was blocked, more than two dozen vehicles were stopped on the road and the passengers were stranded. Some passengers who have houses nearby are forced to walk around. .
At present, an excavator is being sent to the place to clear the landslide, District Police Office Salyan Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri said. According to him, small vehicles have been forced to use alternative routes. The alternative route is also a problem because it is narrow.
In Chorkhola, it has become difficult to clear the landslide due to large stones and soil falling from above.
