The regional agricultural tourism, cultural and industrial festival has started in the headquarters of Khalanga. The 10-day festival was organized by Jumla Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to the organizers, only local products will be displayed, promoted and marketed at the festival.
Devendra Bahadur Shahi, Member of Karnali State Assembly, inaugurated the festival. He insists that this festival will help the agricultural tourism of Karnali and also spread a good message in terms of culture and industry. He said, "It will play an important role in the promotion of local products, tourism promotion and cultural preservation." Only artists from Karnali will participate in the
festival. Purichandra Devkota, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed that the local culture will also be exposed. According to him, Deuda singer Navraj Bhandari, Vipana Singh, Samjhana Adhikari will perform at the festival. Along with this, the artists who have made their home in Kathmandu will also come. Devkota, president of Jumla Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the talent in the district will also be represented. "In this festival, local taste tasting has been organized," he said, "which will introduce Raithane culture and traditions." There are 22 stalls at the
festival. Only five stalls were operational on the first day. According to the organizers, all 22 stalls have been booked. President Devkota said, "There are two hotels. All Raithanebali dishes will be kept. The festival is organized for local industry, Raithanebali, cultural preservation and tourism promotion.
Earlier, the festival was held at Seemachaur and Tundikhel grounds of the Nepali Army, but this time the festival was held at the Covered Hall ground. Chairman Devkota said that the stadium was being built in Simachour and the army had not provided the ground so the festival started at the covered hall.
Gaurinanda Acharya, head of district coordination committee, said that the festival will highlight the potential of Karnali.
