A man who went fishing in the Sharada River after being electrocuted last night has died. Santosh Bista of Chhatreshwari Rural Municipality-7 died after slipping from a stone while fishing.

Resham Bahadur Khatri, Police Inspector of District Police Office, Salyan, informed that the animal, which had slipped off a rock and drowned in the water while fishing, was immediately rescued and brought to the district hospital, Salyan, and died on the way.

Khatri said that the body of the deceased has been kept at District Hospital Salyan for post-mortem and since no post-mortem has been done yet, the exact cause of death cannot be said. According to him, last night, five people including Santosh had gone fishing in Sharda River near Shankha Park in Shankhamul.

After the death of Bista, the four people who were with him are being interrogated by the local police office Luham. The police said that the incident is also being investigated.
