Karnali Education Expo (Season One) has been completed in Surkhet, the capital of Karnali Province, Birendranagar. In the expo, a multifaceted discussion and brainstorming was held on the overall educational situation of Karnali.
At the expo, 13 panelists, including ministers, secretaries, experts, representatives of international and local organizations, had intensive discussions in various sessions. It has been concluded that there is a need for radical changes in education for educational reform. In the
program, sessions focused on 'Now Karnali Jagcha: Rethinking Education, Rebuilding the Future', 'Practical, Vocational Education and Innovation', 'Resources, Skills and Education' were conducted. In the manifesto released from the
expo, it is mentioned that the overall development of the country is not possible with an education system that only increases literacy. It has been suggested that a curriculum based on professional, practical and skill-based education should be created. In the
manifesto, the government's attention has been drawn to the issues of access to education for disabled and marginalized children in Karnali, teacher capacity development, child-friendly educational infrastructure, and education system development based on entrepreneurship and innovation.
In order to improve the lack of quality education in schools in Karnali, lack of access to higher education, and inability to produce skilled manpower, Expo has requested the federal, state and local governments to bring policy changes and concrete programs.
It has been emphasized that the findings of this expo organized by Karnali Development Center should be included in public discussion and government policy. The organizers have said that the joint efforts of all parties are indispensable to implement the conclusions of the expo to brighten the educational future of Karnali.
The expo which started on 3rd Baisakh was conducted for 3 days. The expo, which was organized by the Karnali Development Center, had presentations and participation of experts, engineers and practitioners from various fields.
