In Kalimati Rural Municipality-2 Kalakhola, a tiger has entered the settlement and killed four goats of two farmers and injured one goat. On Sunday night, a tiger entered the shed adjacent to the house of Dham Prasad Adhikari and Krishna Prasad Adhikari of Kalakhola and killed a goat.

The tiger killed and ate three goats of Dham Prasad Adhikari, injured one and killed and ate one goat of Krishna Prasad Adhikari. Now the locals are panicked after the tiger entered the settlement and killed and ate the goat in the shed adjacent to the house. Locals have not been able to go out of their houses due to fear of tigers. Locals have asked the concerned authorities to save the lives of the common people along with the animals from the tiger.

Amar Bahadur Oli, a member of Ward No. 2 of Kalimati Rural Municipality, said that after the increase in the number of tigers in Banke National Park, tigers have been killing livestock in various wards of the bordering Kalimati Rural Municipality. He informed that only three months ago, a tiger killed and ate some goats of a local in Kalakhola.

After the tigers started entering the settlement, the official said that a situation has been created in which it is impossible to go out for defecation at night and leave small children alone at home during the day. She said that even though everyone in the settlement tried to chase it from all sides, the tiger did not find it and went to the forest. He says that now he is afraid to go to the forest to graze cattle and cut grass.

Local Lok Bahadur KC said that because the settlement is near the forest, tigers have started entering the settlement and have been attacking people from time to time in the past, so they are afraid to raise animals. He said that because the border area of Nikunj is open, the settlements near the forest of Kalimati Rural Municipality-7 Ghuiyabari are being emptied because the wild animals are causing suffering to the people.
