It has been found that doctors working in various districts of Karnali province have not received their salary even after four months of appointment.

After studying under the government scholarship quota, the doctors who are currently employed in Karnali district hospitals, local level hospitals and health post contracts have not received their salary even after four months have passed .

"There are two doctors in Dolpa who have contract contracts, they have been working continuously since they were appointed, but they have not received their salary even after four/four months have passed," said Dr. Sijan Rawal, acting head of the Health Service Office, Dolpa.

"The federal government will send the salary allowance, we informed the social development ministry of Karnali province in writing and verbally to coordinate with the federal government, the answer was that we could not send the salary because there is no budget," he added.

Dr. Rawal says that doctors from other districts have not received their salaries either. Dr. Rawal said that all the districts of Karnali including Jajarkot, Mugu and Humla have not received their salaries. 

"It is a pity for doctors to work in remote areas in terms of service facilities, what will be the morale of the doctors who choose remote areas if they do not get paid for a long time?", he asked .

Doctors are complaining that they are having trouble managing their expenses as they have not received their salaries for several months. "We are busy serving the patients, we don't know who to talk to about the salary allowance, four months have passed and we have not received the salary allowance," said Tulsi Shah, a doctor working at the Tripurakot health post in Tripurasundari Municipality-1, Dolpa.

"Last November, one month's salary was received, then from January to Chaitra, the salary was not received, there was no need to stop examining the patient because the salary was not received, you cannot work even on an empty stomach," said Dr. Shah .
