Chhatreshwari rural municipality of the district has started women empowerment and bright society program. The program was started from Ward No. 4 on Sunday for economic, social transformation and capacity building of women through empowerment, prevention of gender violence, child marriage, reduction of polygamy and legal awareness.

The program will be conducted by the municipality in all 7 wards. For the start of the program, public representatives, employees, women and stakeholders have signed a public commitment.

When starting the Women's Empowerment and Bright Society program, local women were also oriented by trainers on the role of female parents in children's education, confidence and skills, capacity development, child marriage, gender violence and legal awareness and the rights and access of the local judicial committee.

Chhatreswari Rural Municipality Vice Chairman Buddhakumari Khatri said that she started the program because the society will prosper only if women can be made independent and capable. As problems like child marriage, polygamy, and domestic violence still exist in the society, she informed that women need legal knowledge and confidence to end these problems.

In the past, women were less educated and could not rise up due to lack of awareness. They were victims of various types of exploitation and oppression. With the program, women no longer become victims of exploitation, oppression, and violence," she said. "When women are educated, the house lights up in the beginning. Then the society becomes bright. If the home and society become bright, all the problems like oppression, exploitation and violence will be solved. In the future, he said, if incidents like oppression and exploitation against women and child marriage are found to occur, action will be taken.

The Chairman of Ward No. 4 Chabilal Khatri informed that a public commitment was signed by joining hands in the women's empowerment and bright program to end child marriage, polygamy and all types of violence and crime based on sexuality.  He informed that he will be active to make the

program effective. He said that since education is the most important thing, he plays an important role in sending children who are out of school to school.
