The Karnali State Assembly has passed a bill to make provision for the empowerment of Dalits. The 23rd meeting held on Thursday unanimously passed a bill to make arrangements for Dalit empowerment.
It will be implemented after the approval by the head of Karnali province. The bill has been introduced to ensure social justice and protect the human rights of the Dalit community by ending the unequal treatment of the Dalit community such as untouchability and caste discrimination.
The then social development minister Bir Bahadur Shahi submitted the bill in the provincial assembly on 27th June 2081.
