The second Karnali International Film Festival has started. The festival started from Sunday in Birendra Nagar, Surkhet.

During the two-day festival, there will be discussions on the promotion and development of Nepali films and various activities to connect film and tourism. According to

festival director Chakra Bahadur Chand, the Karnali festival will also organize a film tourism and climate change summit to promote the historical and cultural importance of Karnali to the national and international levels.  The

festival was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Yamlal Kandel. Speaking after the inauguration, Chief Minister Kandel said that there is no need to compare Karnali to the poor.

"Karnali, which is understood by the analogy of poverty and scarcity, has now changed its identity," he said.
