Viral fever and diarrhea patients have increased in the earthquake-affected area of Darma Rural Municipality. Not only children and old people but also adults are affected by the disease. The number of patients has started increasing in all the health institutions of the municipality. Serious patients have started going to hospitals outside the municipality.

Yagya Bahadur Basnet, Head of Health Branch of Darma Rural Municipality said that diarrhea is only seen in children. According to him, the problem of pneumonia has also been observed in children due to viral fever. "Even though there are plenty of Citamol tablets, there is a lack of Citamol in bags for feeding children," he said. He said that the medicine to be purchased by the municipality has not yet arrived and there is also a shortage of medicine to be obtained from the provincial government.

Locals have been advised to boil as much water as possible and drink as much as possible, seek advice from health workers at health institutions, and eat hot soup, he says. "We have asked patients who have more problems to go to District Hospital Salyan and Mission Hospital Chaurjahari for treatment," he said.

Yagya Bahadur Budhathoki, in charge of the health center, said that 20/25 patients are coming daily. "During the change of weather, the problem has increased due to not paying attention to food and not drinking boiled water," he said.

Even though the number of patients with viral fever and diarrhea has increased, there is no need to panic, said Deepak Chand, in-charge of Dhakadam health post.
