Police arrested 27-year-old Kamal Pun of Bangad Kupinde Municipality who absconded on rape charges after 7 months. The fugitive was arrested at the Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu with the help of the Immigration Department when he was about to go to Dubai on a revisit visa.
Pun, who was brought to Salyan on Thursday, was taken to the district court and his term was extended, said Police Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri, information officer of the district police.
According to him, a 23-year-old married woman of Bangad Kupinde was accused of raping a 23-year-old married woman last July when there was no one at home, and two others attempted to rape her.
Two people have already been arrested. As her parents were living in India, the woman was living with her minor son in the mother-in-law's home.
