The 15th district level President's Running Shield competition has started in Salyan from Thursday.
The district-level President's Running Shield competition has started at Narayan Mavi's playground in Rumalgaon, Kumakh Rural Municipality-2 in the district under the organization of Sports Development Committee and co-organization of Kumakh Rural Municipality. More than 500 players from 10 local levels including Sharda, Bagchaur, Bangad Kupinde Municipality, Darma, Triveni, Kapurkot, Chhatreswari, Kalimati, Siddhakumakh and Kumakh Rural Municipality of the district have participated in the
competition. Khadak Acharya, president of Sports Development Committee Salyan, said that women's, men's volleyball, kabaddi, athletics, taekwondo, martial arts and other sports were included in the
competition. He informed that the competition will be conducted for three days.
He said that the best athletes will be selected for the national sports at the state level in the Running Shield, which is organized under the slogan "Sports, Sports for Health". The
competition was inaugurated by Minister of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment of Karnali Province, Suresh Adhikari.
