Two hundred and thirty-three girls of Jumla have been deprived of HVP, a vaccine against cervical cancer. District Public Health Service Office Jumla said that they could not be vaccinated because they are not in the village.

According to the data, 6,739 teenage girls had to be vaccinated. But only 6,506 people got vaccinated. 

Krishna Sapkota, Head of Public Health Service Office Jumla, informed that some girls could not be vaccinated when they go out of the district because the school is closed during winter. 

'Where have the teenagers gone? They may have been vaccinated there," he said, "but the total number of vaccinated/not vaccinated has not been obtained. Schools in the district are closed in winter. 

'Some students go outside the district to study tuition' said Chief Sapkota. They were deprived of vaccination.' 

1 thousand 372 people from class 6 to 10 and 5 thousand 134 people from class 7 to 10 have been vaccinated against HVP according to the public health service office. 164 sessions were prescribed for HVP vaccination. Vaccination campaign against cervical cancer was conducted from last January 27th to this February 7th. 

According to the Public Health Service Office, 96.54 percent of teenage girls have received the HVP vaccine. 800 people in Kankasundari Rural Municipality, 715 people from Sinja Rural Municipality, 673 people from Tatopani Rural Municipality, 415 people from Guthichour, 1402 people from Chandannath Municipality, 808 girls from Hima Rural Municipality have been vaccinated.

Similarly, 803 girls from Patarasi and 865 girls from Tila have been vaccinated, according to Public Health Office Jumla. In Jumla, the first phase of the vaccination campaign was conducted in Chandannath, Guthichour, Patarasi, Tatopani and Tila Rural Municipality and the second phase in Sinja, Hima and Kankasundari Rural Municipality. A total of 303 health workers and employees were mobilized in 86 vaccination centers. 

The vaccination campaign was started only on January 27 in Jumla due to the late opening of schools due to the cold. 8 thousand 920 vials of vaccine had arrived in Jumla.
