The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Karnali Province is going to operate a liquid nitrogen plant.

Purna Bahadur Thapa, information officer of the ministry, said that the construction of liquid nitrogen plant has started with the purpose of storing animal semen and artificial insemination. 

"After the establishment of the plant, breeding improvement of cows and buffaloes, high-quality fodder and calves will be produced in Karnali," he said. Karnali province now has to bring animal semen from outside for breeding improvement. According to

information officer Thapa, the plant helps to preserve the frozen semen of high-breed cows and bulls bought from outside and use it in the artificial insemination process. 

Currently, the directorate is providing artificial insemination services to 250 animal husbandry in Karnali. One thousand five hundred farmers are demanding artificial insemination in the directorate. 48.5 million was allocated in the budget for the construction of the plant.
