In Bangad Kupinde Municipality-11 Panchhare of the district, eight livestock (goats) have died due to leopard attack. The goats of three local residents including Mohal Pun and Madan Pun were killed by a leopard attack when they were taken to graze in the forest near their home.
Ward president Bir Bahadur Budhamgar said that the goat that was taken for grazing on Saturday did not return home in the evening and was found killed by a leopard when he went to look for it on Sunday. He informed that 5 sheep and two goats which the locals had taken to the forest for slaughter are still missing. According to him, after the leopard killed the goats that were taken to graze in the forest near the house for the first time, the locals were frightened. He said that in recent times wild animals including leopards have increased rapidly and have been causing various types of damage.
Tek Bahadur Rawal, head of Division Forest Office Salyan, said that the goat was killed by a leopard. The team of sub division forest office Sallibazar reached the spot.
