The fire that broke out in the Deurali Community Forest in Salyan's Bagchaur Municipality-2 Tharmare since Wednesday has not yet been brought under control. The fire could not be brought under control due to wind blowing from all sides and lack of fire extinguishing materials.

Dozens of houses in Payalgaon, Lamadanda, Ghartigaon are at high risk due to fire. The president of Deurali Community Forest, Ramesh Nepali, said that more than 80 hectares of land has been burnt and destroyed by the fire and it has started moving to the nearby community forest. He informed that it was difficult to control the fire due to strong winds. 

'The fire that started on Wednesday was extinguished by local and security personnel together. Due to the storm, it has started again since night. "We managed to save four houses that were at high risk," he said.

According to Saroj Rizal, head of local forest office Tharmare, 3000 Salla, Tuni, Uttis trees were destroyed by fire. He said that the cause of the fire has not yet been revealed and the fire is still being extinguished with the help of local consumers, security personnel and forest personnel.

Tek Bahadur Rawal, head of Division Forest Office Salyan, said that since the second week of January, fires have broken out in seven places of different community forests. According to him, more than 500 hectares of forest area has been damaged due to fire in seven places.

He said that since there is a possibility of more fires this year, the office has provided various tools for fire control, a fire control mechanism committee has been formed and the local level has been asked to buy fire extinguishers.
