Chief Minister of Karnali Province Yamlal Kandel has said that the government is going to bring a policy to end the trend of budget allocation based on favoritism.
"The practice of allocating budgets based on partisanship should be ended. When the elected government allocates the budget based on partisanship and face, it sends the wrong message to the common voters, so the government should make policy and legal arrangements to make it based on needs rather than partisanship," he said.
Chief Minister Kandel says that the provincial government has changed the past centralized practice of sending budgets to all 718 wards of Karnali, even if it is small, and has implemented the allocation criteria based on the recommendations of the wards. Prada Shivraj Adhikari, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, in the
program, informed that such programs have been conducted in the seven provinces as a preparation for the budget and programs of the upcoming fiscal year.
In the generalization program that will last for two days, the sixteenth plan, government policies and programs will be discussed between the Karnali state government and local level people's representatives.
