Mechanisms have been gradually formed in Salyan for fire control. Under the coordination of the local level, the sub-division forest office, forest federation, community forest officials have been involved in making the mechanism.

In order to prevent disasters from happening, District Administration Office Salyan had sent a letter to 10 local levels of the district to form a mechanism. Then Tek Bahadur Rawal, head of Division Forest Office Salyan, said that the formation of fire control mechanism was started in coordination with Division Forest Office. He informed that a fire control system with 51 to 150 members has been formed in Triveni rural municipality and Kapurkot and the process has been advanced in other municipalities.

'Salyan is at high risk of wildfires . For fire control, the local level and community forest  Even though they have equal responsibility, they always have to rely on the police, Nepalese army and armed forces. A mechanism has been formed to make everyone equally responsible," he said. He says that the mechanism will not only make everyone responsible but active for fire control. They have been doing it since forest protection. If they are active, they can save the forest from fire, he said.

In the past, most of the community and national forests of the district were damaged due to fires. Durga Bahadur Pun, President of Kapurkot Rural Municipality, said that since dozens of houses were burnt and local residents lost their lives while extinguishing the fire, the mechanism will help a lot in controlling the fire. He said that the community forest will be activated for fire control.
