55 black rana sheep of Tilagufa-10 were burnt to death due to a fire in the sheep shed last night.
District Police Chief DSP Tek Bahadur Rawat said that all the sheep in the cages were burnt to death when the cooking fire was ignited in Rana's Tilagufa-10 Seri Lekgoth on Thursday night.
He said that all the sheep died in a one-story barn with a thatched roof when the cooking fire was ignited at night. He said, 'The fire caused a lot of damage because of the wind.' According to him, a 3-member team headed by Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Bahadur Karki from the temporary police post Chilkhaya picked up the remains of 55 dead sheep and sent them to the district police.
Rana, who has been rearing sheep for years, took them to Seri Lake for grazing since last December.
Tilagufa Nagar Chief Shankar Prasad Upadhyay informed that efforts will be made to compensate the farmer Rana who lost his sheep.
