Jumla police building construction stalled for five years

The building of District Police Jumla, which has been under construction for five years, has fallen into disrepair. As the building cannot be constructed on time, regular work is becoming uncomfortable. Police chief DSP Chedilal Kamti said that sometimes they have to work in dilapidated buildings and sometimes in open fields due to lack of buildings.

Since the old building is narrow and dilapidated, accommodation management is also difficult. The custody of the police station is very cramped and dilapidated. "With no building, the jawans are forced to live in rented houses," DSP Kamati said, "I wish the building would have been built sooner." It became difficult to live in this haphazard state.' Although there is a contract agreement with the construction company to start the construction work from June 29, 2076 and finish on June 28, 2077, it has not been able to move up except for DPC. It is mentioned in the technical report that infrastructure such as office, barracks, detention room, office chief's residence, mess, toilet and drinking water tank, playground will be constructed in the building to be constructed.

Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of the Government of Karnali Province, the contract for the building to be built at a cost of 54.45 lakh 91 thousand rupees was awarded to Dhangadhi-based MK Devsingh JV Company. Krishna Bahadur Swaran, Jumla representative of the

company, said that the construction has stopped because the work has not been paid. He said that because he said that he was not going to ask for the money for the work, a writ was filed through the High Court to the Supreme Court. Now this case is scheduled to be heard in the Supreme Court next May. "The matter of building construction has not been finalized due to the delay in scheduling the appearance in the court," said Swar, the representative of the company. There are cracks in the rooms of old dilapidated buildings. The zinc sheets brought for the new building are getting rusted and are becoming unusable. DSP Kamati said that he is now waiting for the order of the Supreme Court.

According to the police, on 16 January 2075, it seems that the authorization was obtained by making it possible to spend 1 crore. According to the rules, only 96 lakh rupees were paid for 5 roads 45 lakh 91 thousand 924 rupees 92 paisa including value addition tax. On 26th June 2077, a notice was served in the name of the District Police Jumla in the High Court Surkhet Jumla Bench, making the district police also an opponent for non-payment according to the work. The court ruled that the writ petition given by the builders will be dismissed on 21 Baisakh 2078. Again, the builders reached the highest level on November 20, 2079. According to the instructions of the central office, the district police has sent a written reply to the Attorney General's office on December 1, 2079. DSP Kamati said that the district does not have all the information because the center is looking into other processes of the case.
