8 thousand 920 vials of HPV vaccine have arrived at the Public Health Service Office in Jumla for the HPV vaccination campaign which is going to start from 27th January. District Public Health Office Jumla has informed that no girl within the standard will be deprived of vaccination due to the arrival of only enough vaccines.
Public Health Officer Prem Somai said that preparations are being made to send the vaccine to every municipal center by the 25th. He said, "The required amount of vaccine has arrived in Jumla. On the 25th, every municipality reaches the center. After reaching the vaccination center on the 26th, vaccination will begin on the 27th.
Public health chief Krishna Sapkota informed that the HPV vaccination campaign is about to start in view of the risk of cervical cancer in women in the future. 110 vaccination centers have been designated for HPV vaccination. Public Health Officer Somai informed that 303 health workers and employees will be mobilized. Women health volunteers and health workers have all been trained for the vaccination campaign. According to him, in the first phase, the vaccination campaign will be conducted in Chandannath, Patarasi, Gutichour, Tatopani, Tila from January 27 to 29. In the second stage The Health Office is preparing to conduct a vaccination campaign in Hima, Sinja and Kankasundari Rural Municipality from February 1st to 3rd. Eight thousand eight hundred twenty-nine female students of eight local levels of Jumla will be vaccinated against cervical cancer (HPV).
HPV vaccine is considered to be 100% effective against cervical cancer. In the same way, it will be compulsory for girls under the age of 10 to 14 years. "Everyone who is out of school and within the reach of the school will be vaccinated." According to statistics, 1,586 people between the ages of 10 and 14 are out of school in Jumla. There are 7,243 inside the school. Public Health Chief Sapkota informed that a total of 8,829 female students are being prepared to be vaccinated.
One thousand eight hundred and seventy nine people of Jumla's only Chandannath Municipality will be given vaccination. Five hundred and 20 people from Guthichour Rural Municipality, one thousand and 13 people from Hima Rural Municipality, nine hundred and sixty seven people from Kankasundari Vaccination will be given. 1,158 students from Patarasi, 977 students from Sinja, 1,153 students from Tatopani and 1,232 students from Tila will be vaccinated.
Public Health Office Jumla has organized an awareness rally about HPV vaccination and distributed leaflets and pamphlets to remote villages.
